Contemporary Influences

Students were asked to search for a contemporary clay artist (1950's/60's to present) whose work might provide inspiration for a self-initiated final project. Students were asked to find artists who work sculpturally, or whose work is fashioned using handbuilding techniques. Click on student links to peruse their research and developing ideas.

Historical Inspiration

Students were also asked to peruse historical works (defined as ancient - 1950's-60's) from western and/or non-western cultures that  might also provide inspiration for their self-designed final project.

Students were also asked to find relationships between these historical influences and the contemporary  artist they chose to research. Click on student links to peruse their research and developing ideas.
